Hey
Happy Monday!
I hope you had a good weekend :) I unfortunately have a sick dog today, so I'm dealing with that while I try to stay as productive as I can.
I have a new blog post all about figuring out how much editing you need to do before publishing PLR content, but before I get to that, here are 2 free PLR offers that will both expire by tomorrow night:
1. Self-Care for Stress - Health & Wellness PLR
On Friday, I told you about the freebie I had for the weekend - Self-Care for Stress Relief. This includes 10 articles about how to use self-care for stress, and is free until tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
2. Being Productive from Home - Tools for Motivation
Justin and Ted from Tools for Motivation also had a really awesome freebie this weekend! This one is on Being Productive From Home, which is something I know we could ALL use right now. It includes blog posts, a report, and graphics all on this topic.
How Much Do You Need to Edit and Customize Your PLR?
This is one of the most common questions I get, and unfortunately the answer is super annoying - It depends. The type of PLR you buy, what you are using it for, your personal preferences, and many more factors need to be considered here.
But, there are 3 questions you can ask yourself when determining how much to customize it before publishing or selling to your list:
1. How important is it to have content in your own voice and tone?
This should really be the first thing you ask yourself, and it is going to be different for everyone. If you are someone whose audience really enjoys and appreciates how you write, then you will do more customizing of the content than someone whose audience is more familiar with a more varied voice from post to post.
You know your audience better than anyone, from your blog readers to your followers on social media and your email subscribers. You know what they look for in your content, and why they choose to come to you instead of other people who might have similar information on that topic.
It helps to keep this in mind as you read through any PLR you purchase and decide how you want to use it, and whether some tweaking is required before you publish it.
2. Can you combine it with other content?
You might be able to save yourself from doing a lot of rewriting and editing if you are combining multiple pieces of content into one. Whether this is combining 3-4 short articles into a long blog post, or creating an eBook from reports and articles.
You are naturally making it unique simply by changing the content itself, from re-formatting, to moving things around to best fit your topic.
3. How fast can you get it published?
If you have PLR sitting on your hard drive for a long time, you unfortunately will need to edit it a little more than someone who got it published right away. Other people may have published it as-is already, which means to make it unique for you, there is a much higher probability that you need to tweak it even more.
There is nothing wrong with holding on to your content - you shouldn't feel pressured to use it immediately. But this can be a factor when deciding how much to actually customize it.
Okay, that's all I have for you today. Let me know if you have any questions. This is going to be a fun week - so stay tuned!
